The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily housekeeping operations within the hospital to ensure a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role ensures compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies while supervising and supporting the housekeeping staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise housekeeping staff including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring coverage across all hospital areas.
• Inspect patient rooms, operating theaters, public areas, and staff facilities to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently met.
• Train new and existing housekeeping staff on hospital cleaning protocols, safety procedures, and infection control practices.
• Coordinate schedules, time-off requests, and shift coverage to maintain optimal staffing levels.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, local health regulations, and safety and sanitation standards.
• Liaise with nursing and administrative departments to ensure timely and effective cleaning of patient rooms, discharges, and emergency response areas.
• Investigate and resolve housekeeping complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain records of inspections, staff performance, inventory, and any incidents.
• Support environmental sustainability and waste management initiatives where applicable.
• Report maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate department promptly.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in housekeeping in a healthcare or hospital setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and infection control,
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
