Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Hotel Maintenance Worker with strong skills in both plumbing and electrical work. This is a full-time, in-office position based at our resort property in Auroville. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and reliable troubleshooter, capable of performing routine maintenance, guest requests, and emergency repairs to ensure our facilities run smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Plumbing Repairs: Diagnose and repair a range of plumbing issues, including clogged drains, leaky faucets, toilets, and pipe repair in guest rooms and public areas.
• Electrical Work: Perform minor electrical repairs and installations, such as replacing switches, outlets, and light fixtures. Troubleshoot electrical faults and ensure all systems are functioning properly and safely.
• Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance checks on resort equipment and systems to identify and address potential issues before they cause disruption.
• Guest Room Servicing: Respond promptly to guest requests regarding maintenance issues, providing courteous and efficient service.
• Equipment and Appliance Repair: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on various hotel equipment, including kitchen appliances, laundry machines, and other resort amenities.
• Safety and Standards: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintenance standards while carrying out work, and report any major issues to the supervisor.
• Facility Upkeep: Assist with other general maintenance tasks as needed, which may include painting, carpentry, or light repairs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a hotel, resort, or residential complex.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical systems, tools, and best practices.
• Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose problems and determine the best course of action for repairs.
• Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Communication: Good communication skills to interact with guests and other team members politely and effectively.
• Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to ensure all repairs are completed thoroughly and to a high standard.
• Work Ethic: A reliable and hardworking individual with a sense of urgency for maintenance requests.
