Hotel Cook Job Description – Purple Resorts, Auroville

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute a variety of menu items according to our recipes, presentation standards, and quality guidelines.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient food preparation during service hours.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with ingredient prep, portion control, and restocking to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items and supplies as per resort guidelines.
• Participate in the garnishing and presentation of dishes to create memorable dining experiences for guests.
• Perform opening and closing duties for each assigned shift, including cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen area.
• Work collaboratively with other cooks, sous chefs, and service staff to deliver high-quality meals, even during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook in a hotel or restaurant environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen safety practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team.
• Attention to detail in food preparation, flavor, and presentation.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for culinary arts.
