Code Assignment:
o Ensure that codes comply with federal regulations and guidelines set by different insurance providers.
Documentation Review:
o Extract relevant information from patient records, including diagnostic and procedural details.
o Collaborate with physicians and other parties to clarify any ambiguous information.
Coding Accuracy:
o Assign alphanumeric codes accurately, considering the specific medical services provided.
o Verify that codes are sequenced appropriately based on the patient’s condition and treatment.
Data Research and Analysis:
o Research and analyse data needs for reimbursement purposes.
o Identify documentation deficiencies and address them promptly.
Subject Matter Expertise:
o Serve as a resource for other coding staff, providing guidance and answering queries.
o Stay updated on coding changes and industry best practices.
