Professional E/D & E/R Coder

Key Responsibilities:

Review and abstract clinical documentation for E/D and E/R encounters
Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes
Ensure coding compliance with official coding guidelines, CMS regulations, and payer-specific requirements
Meet daily productivity and accuracy benchmarks
Collaborate with coding leads, auditors, and clinicians to resolve documentation or coding issues
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, changes, and industry updates

Minimum 1-8years of recent E/D or E/R professional coding experience (not facility coding)
Active coding certification: CPC, COC, or CCS-P (AAPC or AHIMA)
Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes
Experience with E/M leveling and coding guidelines for emergency services
Proficient in using coding software and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
