Hiring Now: Drill Operator (Diamond Core & RC Drilling) | N.V. Goudkust Gold Mining Industry

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Drilling Operations

Operate and maintain
diamond core and RC drill rigs
and associated equipment
Perform drilling activities to extract core samples or prepare blast holes for mining operations
Ensure
compliance with safety regulations
and environmental standards during drilling operations
Monitor drilling progress, manage drilling fluids, and adjust techniques to maintain optimal performance
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on drill rigs before, during, and after operations
Record operational data such as depth, pressure, penetration rate, and sample recovery
Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues

2. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate drilling logs and reports
Communicate progress, challenges, and equipment needs to supervisors

Job Requirements

Completed
Mechanical Engineering course
or equivalent technical certificates
High school diploma
or technical certification in drilling operations (preferred)
Minimum 5 years of experience
in
Diamond Core Drilling / RC Drilling
Age:
25 – 35 years
Sound knowledge of drilling techniques and sampling methods
Familiarity with drilling equipment, hydraulics, and maintenance procedures
Proactive, task- and result-oriented
mindset
Ability to
work independently and within a team
Willingness to work rotation shifts (21/7)
Flexible
and safety-conscious
