Roles and Responsibilities Structural Design Engineer (High-Rise Buildings)

• Develop and design structural systems

  for high-rise residential, commercial,

  office buildings

  and mixed-use buildings in accordance with applicable codes and standards (IS Codes, NBC, BIS, etc.).
• Perform

  structural analysis and design calculations

  for RCC, steel, and composite structures to ensure strength, stability, and serviceability.
• Prepare and review

  structural drawings, design reports, and construction documents

  for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate closely with

  architectural, MEP, and project management teams

  to ensure seamless integration of structural design with other disciplines.
• Conduct

  load assessments

  including dead load, live load, wind load, and seismic load analysis as per project requirements.
• Evaluate

  geotechnical investigation reports

  and design appropriate foundation systems such as raft, pile, or combined footings.
• Utilize advanced design software such as

  ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAFE, and AutoCAD

  for modeling and analysis.
• Review and verify

  bar bending schedules (BBS)

  and

  reinforcement detailing

  for compliance with design intent and safety standards.
• Provide

  value engineering solutions

  to optimize material usage and cost efficiency without compromising quality and safety.
• Conduct

  periodic site inspections and structural audits

  to ensure that construction adheres to approved designs and specifications.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and approval authorities for

  design clarifications, revisions, and approvals.

• Ensure all structural works are carried out in compliance with

  safety regulations, quality standards, and client specifications.

• Prepare

  structural design documentation and calculation sheets

  required for government or third-party approvals.
• Support the project team in

  tendering, estimation, and technical evaluation

  of structural components and systems.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in

  construction technology, building materials, and seismic design practices.

• Participate in

  peer reviews and internal quality checks

  to maintain consistency and accuracy in structural designs.
