Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer [Creo]

Responsibilities

  • Support/Lead product design and engineering efforts for assigned NPD/LCE projects.
  • Develop plastic products and processes with focus on material selection, CAD design, moldability, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure functional, aesthetic, and quality standards from concept to production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material performance, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
  • Ensure delivery of project milestones with agreed quality, timelines, and cost targets.
  • Participate in i2V workshops, brainstorm ideas, and create alternative design concepts for optimized product performance.
  • Conduct material selection and testing to identify optimal polymers based on mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
  • Stay current with advancements in plastic materials and manufacturing technologies.

Mandatory Skills

  • Proficient in Creo design tool (Plastic design Part creation, Drafting, Assemblies, Design tables).
  • Strong understanding of plastic manufacturing processes including injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding.
  • Hands-on experience in concept development and continuous design improvement.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation (BOM, test specifications, lab reports).
  • Experience with engineering workflows and PLM systems (Windchill).
  • Sound knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design codes.
  • Exposure to DFMEA and design validation planning.
  • Ability to perform feasibility studies, design reviews, and DVP activities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MSP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience in design and development (preferably plastic products, pumps, or high-pressure components).
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing effectively.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and result-oriented approach.
