Job Title: High School English Teacher (Classes 6 - 10 CBSE Curriculum)

English Teacher for Classes 6 to 10

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Delivery & Instruction:

• Teach English language and literature to students in Classes 6 to 10 as per

  CBSE guidelines

  .
• Design and implement engaging lesson plans that meet

  NCERT

  standards and school objectives.
• Teach key areas such as:
• Grammar and vocabulary
• Reading comprehension
• Writing skills (essay, letter, report, article, etc.)
• Literature (prose, poetry, drama from NCERT textbooks)
• Listening and speaking skills for internal assessments

Academic Planning & Assessment:

• Prepare and conduct weekly tests, formative and summative assessments (FA & SA), and practice papers for board classes.
• Evaluate and grade students’ work, maintain records, and track academic progress.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.

Board Exam Preparation (Class 10):

• Guide Class 10 students in preparing for

  CBSE board exams

  , focusing on exam pattern, time management, and question-solving techniques.
• Conduct revision sessions, mock exams, and remedial classes for board readiness.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement:

• Maintain discipline and create a respectful, student-friendly classroom environment.
• Use technology and interactive methods (smart boards, videos, presentations) to enhance learning.
• Encourage student participation in language-based co-curricular activities such as debates, elocution, recitation, essay writing, and dramatics.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Coordinate with subject teachers and academic coordinators for curriculum integration and planning.
• Maintain regular communication with parents through meetings and updates.
• Participate in school functions, staff meetings, training, and workshops.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in English or English Literature (required)
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognised institution (mandatory as per CBSE norms)
• Master’s degree in English (preferred)

Certifications:

• CBSE-aligned teacher certification (as per school or board requirements)

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience teaching English in a CBSE school (preferred)
• Experience with preparing students for Class 10 CBSE board exams (advantageous)

Skills:

• Strong command of written and spoken English
• In-depth knowledge of the CBSE English curriculum and exam pattern
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Competency in using digital tools and smart class technology

Work Environment:

• Standard school hours; additional hours during exam periods or school events.
