Job Title: Helper (Full-Time/Part-Time)

Location: Ocean View Restaurant, Phase- 7, Mohali.

Pay Range: 6,000/- to 12,000/-

Shift Patterns: Part-time and full time both are available

We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and energetic Helper to join our team. You will be the backbone of our Restaurant, ensuring that our chefs have everything they need to create amazing meals and that our facility remains spotless and organized.

Whether you are an aspiring chef or someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, this role offers a front-row seat to how a professional kitchen operates.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

1. Opening Routine

  • Arrival & Setup: Ensure all workstations are sanitized and ready for the day.
  • Equipment Check: Turn on ovens, grills, and dishwashers; report any maintenance issues.
  • Receiving: Assist with checking in morning deliveries, verifying quantities, and storing items in the correct temperature zones (FIFO method).

2. Food Production & Prep

  • Prep Work: Wash, peel, and chop vegetables; portion meats; and prepare basic sauces or dressings.
  • Assembly: Assist line cooks with basic food assembly during low-volume periods.
  • Stocking: Keep the "line" replenished with fresh ingredients throughout the shift.

3. Service Support

  • Dish Management: Operate the industrial dishwasher and manually wash specialty pots/pans.
  • Organization: Ensure clean plates, cutlery, and glassware are quickly returned to the service area.
  • Scraping & Sorting: Efficiently clear debris from returned plates and sort recycling/compost.

4. Cleaning & Safety

  • Floor Care: Sweep and mop all floors regularly to prevent slips.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and break down cardboard boxes.
  • Chemical Safety: Use cleaning agents correctly and follow all health and safety protocols (WHMIS/HACCP).

5. Closing Routine

  • Station Breakdown: Clear all prep tables and store leftover food in airtight containers with date labels.
  • Deep Cleaning: Scrub down prep surfaces, sinks, and walk-in fridge shelves.
  • Final Inspection: Ensure all equipment is turned off and the kitchen is "reset" for the morning crew.

  • Fast Learner: Ability to work quickly under pressure during the "dinner rush."
  • Certification: Food Handler’s Certificate is a plus (but we can help you get it!).
