Head - Software Development

Role Overview: You will be the Head of Software Development at TEAL, leading the creation of next-generation automation and robotics software platforms. Your role involves managing a high-performance team to deliver critical solutions for global customers in electronics, mobile, and semiconductor automation. You will need to combine a strong foundation in industrial software with the integration of future-ready technologies such as AI, digital twins, robotics frameworks, and IoT into manufacturing automation. Additionally, you will be responsible for inspiring, growing, and leading a team that ensures on-time delivery of complete automation stations within 15 weeks. Key Responsibilities: - Build, mentor, and scale a world-class software team consisting of developers, controls engineers, and architects. - Establish TEAL's software engineering culture by implementing agile methods, ownership-driven execution, and continuous learning. - Develop internal competencies in PC-based automation, robotics frameworks, and Industry 4.0. - Act as a coach and mentor to nurture future leaders within the team. - Lead the architecture and development of software platforms that are modular, reusable, and scalable across multiple automation solutions. - Standardize libraries, frameworks, and coding practices to accelerate product development. - Balance short-term delivery with a long-term platform vision. - Take ownership of customer commitments to ensure timely delivery of projects within scope and quality. - Collaborate with design, hardware, supply chain, and quality teams for seamless integration. - Implement robust tracking mechanisms, reviews, and escalation processes to de-risk delivery schedules. - Champion the adoption of various programming languages and robotics frameworks for PC-based machine control. - Drive integration of digital twins, virtual commissioning, and simulation-based validation. - Utilize AI/ML for predictive maintenance, adaptive control, and vision intelligence. - Implement IoT, edge computing, and cybersecurity practices to future-proof systems. Qualification Required: - 10+ years of experience in industrial automation software development, with at least 7 years in leadership roles. - Proven track record of building and leading software teams to deliver automation solutions. - Hands-on experience with controls software (PLC, HMI, SCADA) and PC-based automation. - Experience in delivering customer projects under tight timelines in electronics, semiconductor, or high-precision automation preferred. - Deep understanding of fundamentals such as motion control, robotics, industrial communication, and safety standards. - Exposure to future-ready platforms like digital twins, AR/VR, AI/ML, and IoT connectivity. - Strong execution discipline with the ability to deliver on commitments without compromising quality. - Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on building new capabilities. - Inspirational leader who can attract, retain, and grow top talent.,
