Head - Software Development

As the Head of Software Development at Titan Engineering and Automation Limited (TEAL), a subsidiary of Titan Company Limited and a TATA Enterprise, your role will involve leading the creation of next-generation automation and robotics software platforms. Your responsibilities will go beyond managing code - it is about scaling a high-performance team and delivering critical solutions for global customers in electronics, mobile, and semiconductor automation. Key Responsibilities: - Build, mentor, and scale a world-class software team of developers, controls engineers, and architects. - Establish TEAL's software engineering culture focusing on agile methods, ownership-driven execution, and continuous learning. - Develop internal competencies in PC-based automation, robotics frameworks, and Industry 4.0. - Act as a coach and mentor, nurturing future leaders within the team. - Lead the architecture and development of software platforms that are modular, reusable, and scalable across multiple automation solutions. - Standardize libraries, frameworks, and coding practices to accelerate product development. - Balance short-term delivery with a long-term platform vision. - Take ownership of customer commitments to ensure projects are delivered within timelines, scope, and quality. - Collaborate with design, hardware, supply chain, and quality teams for seamless integration. - Champion adoption of C#, C++, Python, .NET, and robotics frameworks for PC-based machine control. - Drive integration of digital twins, virtual commissioning, simulation-based validation, AI/ML, IoT, edge computing, and cybersecurity practices. Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of experience in industrial automation software development, with at least 7 years in leadership roles. - Proven track record of building and leading software teams to deliver automation solutions. - Hands-on experience with controls software (PLC, HMI, SCADA) and PC-based automation. - Deep understanding of fundamentals in motion control, robotics, industrial communication, and safety standards. - Exposure to future-ready platforms like digital twins, AR/VR, AI/ML, IoT connectivity. - Strong execution discipline and an entrepreneurial mindset.
