The SRE Platform Engineering Lead will manage the Nokia IT Engineering SRE Team. This team support migrating our IT workloads from the on-prem datacenters to the public Clouds (Azure & Google). Migrations can also be from Cloud-to-Cloud. The team also ensure our adherence to Nokia Cybersecurity standards for all Cloud workloads and providing critical L3 support. 5+ years of overall experience in Cloud or Software Engineering Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Experience with Platform Engineering Working with geographically distributed team across multiple time zone 3-5 years Infrastructure or Solution Architecture Experience designing and implementing cloud-based solution architectures for PaaS, IaaS or SaaS. Hands on experience with one of the three primary public clouds:AWS, GCP (preferred), or Azure. Knowledge or experience designing and implementing automation solutions like Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions to build up and tear down infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, GCP Deployment Manager, or Azure DevOps Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations. Soft Skills Focused on quality and delivering results Take ownership and accountability Flexible in taking up different roles and tackling multiple technologies Work collaboratively on projects and help achieving company goals Strong analytic, organization, presentation, customer service and facilitation skills Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple concurrent initiatives with related or independent goals Be a Voice of Customer to share insights and best practices, connect with Engineering team to remove key blockers Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges Cost analysis and management Decision making/strategic thinking/negotiation skills Program management skills Leadership skills Talent management General management Problem solving skills Influencing others/working across boundaries Internal and External stakeholder management As part of our team, you will work as the SRE Platform Engineering Lead performing the following functions: Manage the Nokia IT SRE Platform Engineering Team Manage a team located across multiple time zones Focus on reducing lifecycle friction by defining SLO, SLI, SLA, & SRE with key stakeholders Ensure Cloud services meet their availability target Use software and automation rather than human toil to accomplish availability target and velocity Act as a partner engineering team to the Managed Service operations team Engineer processes and solutions that are automatable Focus on toil reduction through automation Work with team to build a self-service platform Provide full transparency so that users can see their metrics on our service Design efficient, secure, adaptable, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions (data, networking, application) Drive all technical design and execution activities for moving existing on-premise infrastructure, server workloads, data and applications to the cloud IaaS and PaaS architectures. Communicate with senior leaders regarding the architecture, discuss problems and recommend solutions and improvements. Interact and work with application and business team members to provide the optimal environment for applications to deliver business functionality. Introduce and develop Infrastructure automation in the environment including IAC, CI/CD pipelines, and automated configuration management.
