Head of Engineering (Electrical & Mechanical) Semi Equipment Engineering

As the Head of Engineering at Aether, a specialized equipment engineering company based in Mohali, you will play a crucial role in leading and scaling the engineering function across both mechanical and electrical disciplines. With a team of passionate engineers, designers, and builders, you will have the opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with agility to solve complex hardware problems. Your responsibilities will include owning and leading all aspects of engineering in mechanical and electrical domains, building, leading, and mentoring a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, driving technical excellence in design, prototyping, validation, and delivery of complex equipment systems, and collaborating with product, operations, and leadership to align engineering with business goals. Additionally, you will be tasked with establishing and optimizing engineering processes, documentation, and quality standards, leading technical decision-making, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within spec. To excel in this role, you must have at least 8 years of experience in mechanical/electrical/hardware engineering roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity. A strong background in equipment design, automation, electromechanical systems, or similar is essential, along with the ability to lead both hands-on design and high-level systems thinking. Experience working in early-stage or small teams and clear communication skills are also key requirements. Experience with manufacturing, testing, compliance, or industrial automation is considered an added skill.
