Head, Lateral Flow Assay (LFA)

As a Senior Scientist at our company, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of quantitative/qualitative lateral flow assays (LFAs) with a focus on colloidal gold-based technologies. Your key responsibilities will include: - Directing the end-to-end development process from concept to commercial launch - Developing and implementing project plans to ensure timely delivery of milestones - Building and managing a multidisciplinary team to foster innovation and growth - Coordinating with manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory teams for robust assay design - Guiding assay optimization, troubleshooting, and validation to enhance sensitivity and reproducibility - Efficiently allocating resources, managing budgets, and procuring critical materials - Providing project updates to senior management and stakeholders - Driving process improvements and implementing best practices for scale-up and manufacturing - Identifying project risks and developing contingency plans for on-time delivery and high-quality outcomes To qualify for this role, you should have: - Education: PhD or Masters degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, or related field - Experience: Minimum 8+ years in lateral flow assay development, with a track record of delivering commercial products - Regulatory & Quality Understanding: Familiarity with IVD regulatory requirements, quality management systems, and design transfer - Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Commercial Acumen: Experience in bringing diagnostic products from R&D to market successfully Achira Labs is a Bangalore-based company specializing in proprietary lab-on-chip platforms for rapid blood tests in near-patient settings.
