Roles and Responsibilities of a Hair Therapist

Consultation and Diagnosis

Analyze clients hair and scalp condition using visual inspection or diagnostic tools.
Identify causes of issues such as hair thinning, dandruff, breakage, alopecia, or scalp infections.
Take a detailed client history, including diet, lifestyle, stress levels, and product use.

Treatment Planning

Create personalized hair and scalp treatment plans.
Recommend topical treatments, scalp massages, or specialized therapies.
Suggest dietary or lifestyle changes to support hair health.

Therapeutic Treatments

Apply in-salon treatments like:

Scalp detox
Laser hair therapy
Scalp exfoliation or hydration therapy
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatments (if medically certified)

Use herbal, Ayurvedic, or pharmaceutical remedies depending on expertise.

Product Recommendations

Recommend hair care products suitable for the client’s hair/scalp type.
Educate clients about ingredients to avoid based on their condition.

Client Education

Provide guidance on proper hair washing, drying, and styling techniques.
Offer maintenance advice post-treatment to ensure long-term results.

Monitoring Progress
