Coordinate the preparation of permit design packages, including site plans, electrical drawings, structural details, and supporting documents. Work closely with design engineers, CAD drafters, and project managers to ensure accurate and complete permit sets. Track project timelines, deliverables, and permitting requirements to ensure deadlines are met. Review jurisdiction requirements (AHJ – Authority Having Jurisdiction) and ensure designs meet code compliance (NEC, local building codes, and utility requirements). Communicate with clients, municipalities, and utility companies to resolve permitting issues or revisions. Maintain a database of permit submissions, approvals, rejections, and corrections. Ensure quality control of all design deliverables before submission. Support the solar project management team in workflow optimization and documentation. Provide status updates and reports to management on permit progress. Required Skills & Qualifications 2–4 years of experience in solar permit design coordination, project coordination, or similar role. Familiarity with solar PV design, NEC codes, AHJ permitting processes, and utility interconnection requirements. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software (preferred). Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and coordination abilities. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. DESIGN ENGINEER JD: Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Having good knowledge of solar/renewable energy. Creating site layouts in AutoCAD for Utility and Commercial scale solar projects. Creating sheets sets for electrical and structural disciplines under engineer supervision. Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple projects. Coordination with clients on their expectations. Gaining deep knowledge of PV system components such as modules, racking, inverters and Balance of Systems (BOS). Ability to work with and be supported by other engineers for guidance. Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes. Perform additional duties as assigned and/or directed. Required Qualifications, Traits, and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field. Proficiency in design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD. Knowledge of PV systems design is a plus. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
