Grant Specialist

As a Grant Writer, your role involves developing educational and instructional content for platform workers, with a primary mission to empower low-income communities by providing AI-enabled opportunities for earning and learning. Through a smartphone-based app, participants in India are connected to gig-work opportunities to create and refine datasets for AI/ML models. Your dedication to producing clear, contextual, relevant, and educational content will significantly impact the lives of our participants. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop clear, concise, and engaging content suitable for rural audiences with diverse educational backgrounds. - Collaborate with Research, Operations, Design, and Tech teams to produce instructional content for the app, including training videos, instructions, and onboarding materials. - Work closely with the Program Lead - Learn to create educational content across various domains, focusing on digital skill development. - Ensure all content is user-friendly and accommodates the limitations of low-grade smartphone UI. - Collaborate across multiple teams to maintain consistency in messaging and design across various content formats. - Travel to rural areas in India (up to 20%) to gather insights and adapt content accordingly. **Skills & Competencies:** - Must have proven experience (minimum 2+ years) in writing educational content for rural audiences in India. - Prior experience with non-profits or educational organizations is preferred. - Experience in UX writing for Indian language applications/platforms is an advantage with an understanding of content design tailored to audiences with limited schooling. - Proficiency in writing content optimized for smartphone usage. - Strong ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively. - Fluency in at least one Indian language is required; additional language skills are a plus. - Capable of working independently and collaboratively across different teams. - Familiarity with working directly with rural communities, understanding their context, language usage, and mindsets. - A self-motivated individual who takes full ownership of tasks and operates autonomously.
