Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business Development Manager located in Mumbai. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and developing strategies to achieve revenue goals. Daily tasks include market research, networking, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction. Position: Business Development Manager – Events & Exhibitions Location: Mumbai (HQ) / Remote with frequent travel to event sites as required Reports to: Director Company Overview Grade Electricals Pvt. Role Overview The BDM for Events & Exhibitions will spearhead the acquisition and growth of event-specific electrical infrastructure contracts. You’ll nurture relationships with event organizers, exhibit planners, and partners to ensure GEPL is the trusted provider for designing and deploying safe, efficient electrical networks at exhibitions and events. Key Responsibilities Business Acquisition & Growth Identify and pursue new event/exhibition business opportunities. Cultivate strategic partnerships with event agencies, exhibition halls, corporate clients, and relevant collaborators. Stakeholder & Client Management Serve as the main liaison for event-related business development. Lead proposal development, RFQs, and client follow-ups. Collaborate with internal teams—engineering, procurement, operations—to customize electrical solutions. Solution Design & Execution Promote GEPL’s specialist offerings Ensure proposals emphasize safety, timely installation, quality, and regulatory compliance. Market Intelligence & Strategy Monitor exhibition industry trends and competitor activities. Participate in relevant events and business networks to grow visibility and lead pipeline. Project Coordination & Follow-Up Coordinate between sales, operations, and clients through pre, during, and post-event phases. Support project descriptions when updating the “Events & Exhibitions” portfolio. Candidate Profile Experience & Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years in business development or sales within the events, exhibitions, or related industrial services domain. Proven success in winning and managing electrical or technical service contracts tied to exhibitions. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong networking and relationship-building skills. Excellent communication and persuasive proposal writing. In-depth understanding of electrical infrastructure needs for events. Negotiation and client-management capabilities. Organized, proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Attributes Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple leads and opportunities. Collaborative team player with technical and sales teams.
