As a Senior Platform Engineer at our organization, you will be a key member of the Database Engineering team, contributing to database initiatives and supporting global products. Your role will involve deploying and managing various database technologies in test and production environments, including Developer APIs, Digital Checkout, and Card Tokenization. You will be required to have a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience, as well as strong knowledge and experience in database management, particularly in Oracle and PostgreSQL. Your responsibilities will include installation, creation of new instances, space management, database reorganization, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you should have a good understanding of security standards and best practices for database platforms. Experience in database tuning and troubleshooting is essential, along with knowledge of Oracle replication implementation, Oracle database tuning, SQL tuning, and PostgreSQL administration. Understanding partitioning/sharding concepts, high availability architectures, and backup and recovery for Oracle and PostgreSQL is also crucial for this role. You should possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across different geographies and provide excellent customer service to internal business partners. The ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, learn new technologies quickly, and participate in cross-functional teams is highly valued. Furthermore, you will be expected to adhere to corporate security responsibilities by following Mastercard's security policies, ensuring information confidentiality and integrity, reporting any security violations, and completing mandatory security trainings.
