Role & responsibilities

Position Open For:

The Head / GM – MEP is responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems within construction projects, ensuring they are functional, safe, and compliant with all relevant regulations. This leadership role involves managing a team, controlling budgets and timelines, and coordinating with other disciplines such as architecture and structural engineering. The role ensures the successful delivery of high-quality MEP systems from initial concept through to final implementation and handover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management:

  Oversee the complete MEP project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, and procurement.

• Team Leadership:

  Lead and mentor the MEP team, providing technical guidance and ensuring timely delivery.

• Design Oversight:

  Ensure MEP designs comply with local codes, international standards, and project requirements.

• Cross-Disciplinary Coordination:

  Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate MEP systems into overall project design.

• Quality Assurance:

  Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor quality and adherence to design specifications.

• Technical Expertise:

  Provide expert guidance on HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire protection.

• Stakeholder Communication:

  Organize and participate in meetings to provide updates, address issues, and ensure stakeholder alignment.

• Financial Management:

  Develop and manage MEP budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution without compromising quality.

• Documentation:

  Review and approve design documents, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.

• Risk Management:

  Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with MEP systems.

• Innovation:

  Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
