Geotechnical Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations for dam foundations, powerhouses, tunnels, penstocks, and other hydraulic structures.
  
• Perform stability analysis of slopes, embankments, and foundations using appropriate software tools (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLIDE, FLAC).
  
• Design of foundation systems for concrete and earth dams, including seepage control, cutoff walls, grouting curtains, and drainage systems.
  
• Analyze soil-structure interaction and settlement behavior for various hydropower structures.
  
• Interpret borehole logs, laboratory and field test results (SPT, CPT, permeability tests, triaxial shear, consolidation, etc.).
  
• Prepare geotechnical interpretative reports (GIR), design basis reports, and risk assessments.
  
• Provide technical input to multidisciplinary teams including structural, hydraulic, and geological engineers.
  
• Review contractor submittals, geotechnical reports, and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  
• Perform site visits to supervise geotechnical investigations, instrumentation, and monitoring programs.
  
• Assist in landslide risk assessment and mitigation design in reservoir and project areas
