We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
General Surgeon
with a minimum of
4+ years of post-qualification experience
to join our dynamic medical team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in
general surgery
, proficiency in a wide range of surgical techniques, and a strong background in
clinical evaluation and patient management
.The role involves diagnosing patient conditions, performing surgeries, providing pre- and post-operative care, and ensuring the highest standards of surgical practice. The candidate should be patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate surgical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical & Surgical Care
- Conduct patient assessments, evaluate medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of surgical conditions requiring operative or non-operative intervention.
- Perform elective and emergency surgeries including appendectomy, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, trauma cases, and other general surgical procedures.
- Ensure adherence to surgical protocols and best practices to minimize risks and optimize outcomes.
- Pre- and Post-Operative Care
- Counsel patients and families on surgical options, associated risks, and recovery plans.
- Provide pre-operative preparations and ensure all required tests and investigations are complete.
- Monitor patients post-surgery, manage complications, and ensure smooth recovery.
- Collaboration & Multidisciplinary Approach
- Work closely with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other specialists to deliver coordinated surgical care.
- Participate in case discussions, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary medical boards.
- Refer patients to super-specialists when advanced interventions are required.
- Emergency & Critical Care
- Attend emergency calls related to trauma, abdominal emergencies, and other acute surgical conditions.
- Provide rapid decision-making and interventions in life-threatening scenarios.
- Remain available for on-call surgical duties as per hospital requirements.
- Patient Care & Education
- Educate patients and families about preventive measures, post-operative lifestyle modifications, and long-term care.
- Address patient queries and ensure clarity in treatment plans.
- Promote awareness regarding early detection and timely surgical interventions.
- Research & Continuous Learning
- Stay updated with latest surgical innovations, minimally invasive techniques, and medical technologies.
- Participate in academic discussions, workshops, and professional seminars.
- Train and mentor junior doctors, interns, and nursing staff in surgical practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- MBBS with MS/DNB in General Surgery (mandatory).
- Minimum of 4+ years of clinical and surgical experience post-qualification.
- Proven expertise in performing general surgical procedures and managing complex cases.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, techniques, and patient safety protocols.
- Excellent decision-making, diagnostic, and clinical management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients and families.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure hospital environment with emergency readiness
