1. Job Purpose / Brief Description • This position reports to the CEO with primary accountability for leading and managing all activities including Sales, Operations, Admin/Finance and overall team management to achieve regional goals. • This position will be responsible for the regional P&L. The position leads Carrier relations, operational excellence, customer service and take ownership of freight volumes and revenues. This role will work towards improving the effectiveness of overall Sales/ operations / service delivery and ensuring operational excellence of all branch offices in the region, optimizing costs, and managing regional gateways. • This position has full management responsibility for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling of all matters relating to regional Sales & Operations. Responsible for the implementation of strategy and development of regional operational excellence to achieve high customer satisfaction & account relationships, growth, and development. Ensure consistent, effective, and timely liaison with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with logistics requirements and meeting and/or exceeding KPI. • This role will provide leadership to create a strong integrated Sales & Operations, domestic warehouses at strategic locations, intermodal product in liaison with Branch Heads across South TN to support sales / commercial in the sales process to grow our business portfolio as well as work closely with various stakeholders in developed customized operations offerings. 2 Roles & Responsibilities • Set up a business plan & team and prepare annual budgets of the region for all Branch operations. • Ensure all Branch offices in the region meet all budgeted sales and profit goals that are fixed and own the profit or loss for the branch Offices. • Leading and monitoring the performance of the Branch Offices to ensure efficiency in process operations. • Ensure that the Companys goals are clearly established, and strategies are in place to achieve them. • Generate and exchange leads within our group offices and associates. • Identifying new business opportunities and prospective customers and introduce full range of companys products and services across South TN • Ensure smooth operations, prompt customer service, error-free documentation work in all the branch offices of the region. • Drive a new strategy in consultation with the CEO to improve operational efficiency cost effectively and thereby ensure consistent growth of the Branch Offices. • Analyse competitors’ pricing, current market trends across the region to take decision tactically for strong market penetration. • Ensure well defined operation process in force in all Branch Offices of the region and company’s guidelines are implemented in key areas such as credit acceptance policy, minimum margin levels, routing order, corporate accounts etc. • Oversee Vendor Management for the region to ensure quality service and vendor compliance. • Maintain excellent relationships and coordinating with the agents/liners for smooth execution of operation. • Maintain smooth relations with the major customers of the region and follow up to ensure smooth operations, repeat business and high customers satisfaction ratings. • Oversee and instruct the branch heads to reduce level of out standings in line with Credit Policies of the Company and taking consistent measures for reducing the cost of operations and staying within budget set by the CEO. • Ensuring that the Branch Offices in the region adhere to the high standards of ethics and corporate behaviour. • Developing concepts for logistics industry and building brand in the logistics industry • Establishing SOPs for all key processes in the logistics business units to ensure seamless operations in all the Branch Offices of the region. • Developing relationship with trade and industrial associations • Conducting regular review meeting with Branch Heads of the region and shall evolve action plans accordingly. 3. Descriptive Quantitative Data • Budget size/ turnover/, sales targets, full-time employees under supervision, geographic reach/span etc Geographic Span Sales & Operations across SouthIndia Annual Business / Work Plan It will be fixed by the CEO Annual and Project G&A Budget As defined in annual budget or new project budgets 5. Incumbent specification Education Required: Graduate/MBA from a reputed institution. Preferred: Graduate or Post-graduate in Logistics or Supply Chain Management. Experiences • Minimum 15 to 20 years’ experience in Sales & Operations in reputed Freight Forwarding Logistics Companies (sea /air/customs clearance/transportation). • A minimum 10 years’ experience in reputed logistics companies in a leadership role. • Must have administered many branch offices. • Computer savvy and conversant in automated system process in the supply chain management. In depth knowledge and experience of local Ocean/Air Carrier, CFS-ICD, warehouses, container terminal, customs, CLS operations and related Documentation procedures and International Supply Chain flows. In depth knowledge of local regulatory, regional practices. Highly data-driven and process-minded leader. Able to articulate complex supply chain topics, meaningfully engage senior stakeholders and seek solutions in an ambiguous environment. Able to leverage technology or mobilize suitable stakeholders to implement solutions.
