About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with 7 to 10 years of experience and proven, hands-on exposure to Generative AI (Gen AI) technologies. The successful candidate will be a critical part of our team, responsible for both supporting and modernizing core Healthcare domain mainframe applications. This role requires a professional who can seamlessly integrate traditional mainframe development and support with new-age AI-driven enhancements, driving innovation while ensuring system reliability and performance.

You will be expected to work in a hybrid mode and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including AI Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders, to ensure robust delivery and quality assurance.

Key ResponsibilitiesMainframe Development & Support

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain complex mainframe applications using core languages such as COBOL, Assembler, and PL/I.
• Work extensively with key mainframe databases, including IMS hierarchical databases and DB2 relational databases, for both new development and ongoing support activities.
• Conduct in-depth analysis, troubleshoot, and swiftly resolve issues, defects, and production incidents across existing critical mainframe systems.
• Optimize system performance, tune code, and ensure high reliability, stability, and operational efficiency of all applications.

Generative AI Integration & Modernization

• Evaluate and implement Generative AI tools and techniques to modernize and enhance existing mainframe processes, focusing on areas like code analysis, migration planning, or automated documentation generation.
• Collaborate with AI specialists to design solutions that leverage mainframe data and business logic with Gen AI capabilities.
• Proactively identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation to improve application functionality, user experience, and development efficiency within the mainframe landscape.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (functional, testing, and infrastructure) for system integration, detailed solution design, and successful feature enhancements.
• Prepare, maintain, and update technical documentation (e.g., design specifications, flowcharts, runbooks) adhering strictly to established coding and quality standards.
• Actively participate in process reviews, status update meetings, and quality governance activities to ensure project milestones are met on time and with high quality.

Required QualificationsEducation

• Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Preferred: A Master's degree (MCA / M.Tech) is considered an added advantage.

Technical Skills (7-10 Years Experience)

• Mandatory: Deep expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
• Highly Desirable: Hands-on experience with IMS DB/DC, CICS, VSAM, Assembler, and PL/I.
• Essential: Practical, verifiable exposure and experience with Generative AI principles (e.g., prompt engineering, model integration, specific Gen AI platforms/tools).
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) on the mainframe platform.
• Proven ability to perform performance tuning and complex system analysis.

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
