Gas Cutter

Job Summary:
The Gas Cutter is responsible for cutting, shaping, and dismantling steel plates, pipes, and ship structures using oxy-fuel gas cutting equipment as per drawings and work instructions. The role ensures safe, accurate, and efficient cutting operations in shipbuilding and repair activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform gas cutting of steel plates, sections, pipes, and ship structures as per drawings and job requirements.
• Carry out cutting during fabrication, erection, and dismantling of ship hulls and components.
• Set up, operate, and maintain gas cutting equipment, including oxy-acetylene/oxy-LPG systems.
• Ensure correct measurements, markings, and alignment before cutting.
• Follow safety procedures, including use of PPE and fire prevention measures.
• Assist welders and fitters during fabrication and repair works.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping at the work site.
• Report equipment defects and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Comply with shipyard safety rules, quality standards, and work schedules.

Requirements & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Gas Cutter in shipbuilding or heavy fabrication industry.
• Knowledge of oxy-fuel cutting techniques and safety practices.
• Ability to read basic drawings and understand work instructions.
• Physically fit to work in confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions.
• Team player with good discipline and safety awareness.

Qualification:

• ITI or trade certification preferred (not mandatory).
• Minimum experience as per company or project requirements.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
