The DevOps team helps GCGs internal customers creating not only a platform to host the games but also accompanying a game during its entire life: before its launch (architecture design, technology R&D, tool recommendation, etc.) and after its launch (operations, reporting and metrics, 24/7 monitoring and administration and incidents/request management). As a Database Administrator, you will work alongside developers and DevOps Administrators to bring forward a deeply specialized knowledge of various database technologies to ensure that they are properly deployed, stable, sized and monitored with a minimum level of manual operation. Your role will be to work with colleagues and production teams on our many challenges, issues or features by proposing and executing efficient strategies to tackle challenges related to databases. What You’ll Do: Take full ownership of all databases that power Garden City Games games. Responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and upgrading databases. Lead database administration tasks including security, backup, capacity planning, performance-tuning, disaster recovery and resolving a broad range of database related issues. Build or implement tools to monitor availability, latency, performance, capacity. Design and improve the architecture of our production systems, while also improving the developer experience of working with large, distributed databases. Guide development teams with recommendations on their databases to ensure they create stable, scalable and secure solutions on premises or in the cloud that make it easy for developers to use our infrastructure. Manage and provide mentorship to other junior members of the database team. Work with developers and the product management team to understand requirements, and provide data requests as necessary. Develop strategies for migrating and upgrading various environments. Investigate, provide root cause analysis (RCA) of related issues, and provide recommendations. Available to work on an on-call basis, and available when required by the team. What You Bring: At least 6 years experience with SQL & NoSQL Technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra and Couchbase. Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle is an asset. Knowledge of cloud technologies – AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB and ElastiCache. Demonstrated experience in a service driven team, preferably using a Kanban methodology.. Experience with administering caching tools such as Redis and Memcache. Should be familiar with a scripting language (such as Bash, Python, Perl, Java, PHP) Knowledge of DB Monitoring, DB Change Management Solutions, capacity planning and the forecasting of hardware requirements. Deep ability to detect database server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention issues. In-depth skills in debugging database performance issues such as query plans, locking and optimizing data structure. Possess a good understanding of Github/BitBucket, Ansible, Terraform, OS, network, storage, memory, OS variables primarily on Linux flavours. Strong personal and leadership skills to be able to manage a team of motivated individuals. Eager to learn new technologies such as Kubernetes. B.E/B.tech/MCA graduate. The NOC + SRE + DevOps Engineerwill play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the reliability andperformance of our services. This hybrid role encompasses monitoring andsupporting our network operations, ensuring the reliability and scalability ofour infrastructure, and enhancing our CI/CD processes. The ideal candidate willhave a strong background in network operations, site reliability engineering,and DevOps practices with hands-on experience in Linux, AWS, Ansible,Terraform, and OpenStack. Key Responsibilities: Network Operations Center (NOC) Responsibilities: Monitor and manage the companys network infrastructure and servers 24/7. Respond to and troubleshoot network issues, outages, and performancebottlenecks. Ensure high availability and reliability of network services. Maintain and update network documentation and incident logs. Coordinate with stakeholders for issue resolution. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies for maintaining system reliability,availability, and performance. Automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency. Monitor system performance and reliability metrics, and proactivelyaddress potential issues. Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and implement preventivemeasures. Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designedfor reliability and scalability. DevOps Responsibilities : Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines for application deployment. Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate andstreamline build, test, and deployment processes. Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools likeTerraform and Ansible. Ensure security and compliance of the deployment pipeline andinfrastructure. Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to improvethe DevOps process. Qualifications : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relatedfield (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in network operations,site reliability engineering, and/or DevOps roles. Strong experience with Linux system administration. Proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly AWS. Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible. Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
