Role Overview: As a Functional Data Domain Lead in the insurance industry, you will be responsible for leading the design, governance, and enablement of high-quality insurance data across the enterprise. Your role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure accurate, consistent, and effectively utilized data related to policies, claims, underwriting, and reinsurance for analytics, reporting, and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage end-to-end insurance data management processes to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards. - Partner with Insurance, Actuarial, and Finance teams to identify data needs, pain points, and business use cases within the insurance value chain. - Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering, and Architecture teams to design and implement scalable data solutions aligned with business strategies. - Define and enforce data standards, governance policies, and quality frameworks across insurance data domains. - Contribute to the development of technology and data roadmaps supporting future business capabilities, reporting, and analytics. - Partner with analytics and reporting teams to enable actionable business insights and ensure consistent metric definitions across products and lines of business. - Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in insurance data management, such as AI, predictive analytics, and cloud-based platforms. - Communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders regarding project status, milestones, risks, and dependencies. - Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex insurance data and drive data-driven decision-making. - Manage multiple priorities, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational needs in a dynamic business environment. - Serve as a domain expert in advising on various insurance processes and strategies. - Utilize hands-on SQL (or equivalent) data querying and analysis skills to validate, explore, and troubleshoot data issues independently. - Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities across cross-functional teams. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 12+ years of relevant professional experience in insurance data management or a related field. - Proven expertise in insurance data domains including policy, claims, underwriting, and reinsurance. - Deep understanding of insurance financial and actuarial processes, such as pricing, reserving, and reporting. - Proficiency in SQL or equivalent query languages for data exploration and validation. - Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and metadata management principles. - Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
