About Akanksha: The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission to build one of the most innovative school networks that empowers children from low-income communities to maximize their potential. Akanksha currently serves 10,000 children and 4000 alumni, through its 26 schools in Pune, Mumbai & Nagpur Metropolitan Regions in partnership with the municipalities. Position Summary: We are looking for a passionate and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our technology team. You will play a key role in building, maintaining, and scaling internal platforms and dashboards that improve decision-making across the organization. The role requires strong backend development skills in Python (preferably using Flask or Django ), experience with MySQL databases, and familiarity with data visualization using libraries like Plotly , Matplotlib , Pandas , and NumPy . Knowledge of AWS deployment is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: Backend Development: Design and develop RESTful APIs using Flask or Django frameworks Handle authentication, authorization, data handling, and business logic Write scalable and reusable Python code Database Management: Design, optimize, and maintain MySQL database schemas Perform data migrations, indexing, and performance tuning Ensure secure, clean, and structured data storage Frontend Development: Build user-friendly interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript Integrate APIs with frontend components to ensure smooth UX Data Visualization & Analytics: Use Plotly , Matplotlib , Pandas , and NumPy to process and display data Build dashboards that present real-time insights from datasets Deployment & DevOps: Deploy web applications on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.) Manage environment variables, backups, server monitoring, and basic CI/CD Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the product, data, and operations teams to gather requirements Document code, APIs, and development processes clearly Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or performance issues quickly Required Skills and Qualifications: Proficient in Python with at least 2 years of experience in Flask or Django Strong experience with MySQL : writing queries, joins, stored procedures, etc Solid understanding of REST APIs, request/response cycles, and JSON handling Familiarity with HTML5 , CSS3 , JavaScript , and basic frontend logic Hands-on experience with Pandas , NumPy , Matplotlib , Plotly for data analysis and visualizations Experience with AWS for application deployment (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM) Version control using Git and working knowledge of collaborative development tools Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue Experience with Docker and containerized deployment Understanding of secure coding practices Exposure to task runners or background jobs (e.g., Celery, cron)
