Location : Remote / Hybrid Type: Full-Time / Contract Experience: 2+ years Primary Focus: Backend (Node.js) with full stack capability Domain: US Healthcare, DME Integrations, Outpatient Syst About the Role: We are building a next-generation outpatient healthcare platform that connects patients with providers and providers with businesses (like DME suppliers, pharmacies, and non-medical service vendors). Were looking for a Full Stack Developer with a strong focus on Node.js backend development, who can also support front-end tasks when needed. Youll play a key role in building scalable APIs, integrating third-party services (like DME and pharmacies), and ensuring HIPAA-compliant architecture and performance. Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js (Express/NestJS) Collaborate with frontend developers to deliver end-to-end features Work closely with the product team to build provider-patient-business workflows Integrate external services (e.g., pharmacy APIs, DME suppliers) securely Build and maintain role-based access control (RBAC) Ensure backend systems handle PHI and data workflows in compliance with HIPAA Write clean, maintainable, and testable code (unit & integration tests) Optimize database queries and backend performance (MongoDB / PostgreSQL) Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architecture discussions Occasionally assist in frontend development (React preferred) Required Skills 2+ years of professional experience in Node.js backend development Hands-on experience with: Express.js or NestJS RESTful API design MongoDB or PostgreSQL (or both) JWT-based auth and role-based access control Familiarity with frontend tech (React, HTML/CSS/JS) Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, middleware, and security practices Experience with Git, JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, and working in Agile teams Familiarity with healthcare data handling or sensitive user data workflows Nice to Have Experience in US healthcare domain (DME systems, patient portals, HIPAA) Knowledge of HL7/FHIR, EHR systems, or claim integrations Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha) Understanding of DevOps, containerization (Docker), or deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions, AWS, etc.)
