Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our logistics and transportation team. The Freight Broker is responsible for coordinating shipments between shippers and carriers, negotiating rates, tracking freight, and ensuring the smooth, efficient delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers. Negotiate freight rates with carriers to ensure profitability and competitive pricing. Schedule and coordinate the pickup and delivery of shipments. Track shipments in real-time to ensure timely delivery and address any issues proactively. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for each shipment. Resolve shipment and delivery issues in a timely and effective manner. Monitor market trends and rate changes to maintain competitiveness. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM tools effectively. Generate leads and build a network of carrier and customer contacts. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics preferred). Proven experience as a freight broker or in a logistics/transportation role. Knowledge of transportation regulations and freight market dynamics. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications: Book of business (existing carrier and/or shipper relationships). Familiarity with freight classes, shipping documentation, and Incoterms.
