Job Title: Foundation Year Coordinator School: DEV Vidyalaya (CBSE), Day boarding Secondary Reports to: Vice Principal/Principal Location: Sikar, Rajasthan, India Timings : 8 am to 5 pm. Role Summary: To lead and coordinate the efforts of the Foundational Teachers in the school and ensure strong academic grounding, socio-emotional development, and smooth transition for students entering secondary education. Job Description: 1. Curriculum Design: Curriculum development and implementation, ensuring that educational policies are effectively followed. Facilitate the transition of students from Preparatory to the next Stage in accordance with NEP 2020 guidelines. Assist with lesson planning. Integrate play-based, activity-based, and experiential learning methods. Support foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) goals for students who may have learning gaps. 2. Academic Leadership: Plan and oversee curriculum implementation for foundational bridge classes or remedial sessions. Collaborate with subject teachers to identify learning levels and ensure differentiated instruction. Monitor academic progress and ensure alignment with the National Curriculum Framework (NCF 2023). Provide social-emotional learning (SEL) support through structured activities and counselling referrals. 3. Communication (Parents, School Leadership): Liaise with primary school educators to gather insights into student progress and needs. Engage with parents through regular communication, workshops, and PTMs to build home-school partnerships. Coordinate with school leadership on resource planning and staff training for foundational needs. 4. Monitoring & Reporting: Maintain records of student progress in foundational competencies. Use formative assessment tools to drive instructional planning. Submit periodic reports to the Principal/Academic Head on student readiness and intervention outcomes. Job Specification : Essential: Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.); additional certification in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred. Minimum 8 years of teaching or academic coordination experience, preferably at primary or lower secondary levels in which 3 years must be as a foundational coordinator. Strong understanding of NEP 2020, NIPUN Bharat, and foundational learning frameworks. Should have good knowledge of phonics. Desirable: Experience in child-centred pedagogy and inclusive education. Familiarity with CBSE Board implementation plans for NEP. Ability to lead teacher training and workshops.
