Food Handler

Kitchen Supervisor / Production Supervisor / Shift In-Charge

Job Summary:

The Food Handler is responsible for safely handling, preparing, packing, and storing food products while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety. The role supports kitchen and production operations to ensure food is prepared and delivered in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:Food Handling & Support

  • Handle raw, semi-cooked, and cooked food items safely as per SOPs.
  • Assist in food preparation, portioning, packing, and dispatch activities.
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.

Hygiene & Food Safety

  • Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards at all times.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices (HACCP/FSSAI).
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly.
  • Prevent cross-contamination during food handling and storage.

Storage & Inventory Support

  • Assist in proper storage of food items following FIFO/FEFO practices.
  • Label food items correctly with date, time, and batch details.
  • Support stock movement and basic inventory checks.

Operational Support

  • Support kitchen or production teams during peak hours.
  • Operate basic kitchen or packaging equipment safely under supervision.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and report any issues promptly.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow workplace safety rules and procedures.
  • Report any health concerns, contamination risks, or safety hazards immediately.
  • Participate in food safety training and audits as required.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and SOPs.
  • Attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Basic education/Schooling/Any Graduate
  • 0–2 years experience in food handling, kitchen, or production roles.

Working Conditions:

  • Shift-based work, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically demanding role involving standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
  • Hot, cold, or temperature-controlled work environments depending on role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹20,000.00 per month
