Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Vehicle Technician to join the Qualcomm Self-Driving Team. The ideal candidate should have experience in working with ADAS and self-driving technologies. Responsibilities include retrofitting vehicle sensors, creatively implementing mounting racks, installing vehicle logging system hardware, wiring, and technical troubleshooting. The selected candidate will also be responsible for vehicle maintenance, calibration, and data collection tasks in collaboration with the engineering team. The minimum qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of Software Engineering experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 1+ year of relevant work experience or a PhD in a related field is also acceptable. Additionally, the candidate should have at least 2 years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. The role will involve working as part of the Fleet team, supporting all autonomous vehicle-related activities. The candidate will need to focus on understanding the hardware system architecture and sensor integration of the test fleet. Proficiency in Python development, exposure to ADAS, track inventory management, and project assets are also required for this position. Key responsibilities include understanding Linux PC system setup, IP network setup and management, diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical systems, performing simple mechanical tasks, software troubleshooting, fabrication and installation of prototype components, sensor installation, and testing equipment according to engineering specifications. The candidate is expected to provide lab support across the organization, including system hardware commissioning, networking, cabling, and racking. A valid driver's license is necessary, and the candidate should be able to drive a vehicle for trade shows or weekend testing. Data collection, basic troubleshooting of vehicle stack, general mechanical understanding, record-keeping, and communication with engineers and technicians are also essential aspects of the job. Minimum qualifications for this role include a high school diploma or some college education, along with 3+ years of related lab or field work experience. A valid driver's license with a clean record, good technical and mechanical abilities, automotive electrical understanding, and basic computer skills in Linux/Windows are necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience in customer interaction, advanced driver training, electrical knowledge, basic scripting in Python, familiarity with QXDM, ADB, or other logging and troubleshooting tools, willingness to travel and work on weekends, good communication skills, and a team player attitude. Expertise in wireless and wireline sensors setup and installation is also preferred.
