Description
As an FM-200 Design Engineer in Chennai, you will play a crucial role in designing and installing FM-200 fire suppression systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Key Responsibilities: - System Design and Layout: Develop detailed designs for FM-200 clean agent fire suppression systems, including cylinder placement, piping, and nozzle layout for optimal coverage. - Hydraulic Calculations: Conduct hydraulic calculations to determine FM-200 agent quantity, pipe sizing, and ensure system performance as per NFPA 2001 standards. - Compliance with Standards: Ensure designs meet relevant standards such as NFPA 2001, UL, FM, and local fire codes, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. - Equipment Selection: Specify FM-200 cylinders, nozzles, control panels, and other system components based on project needs and performance criteria. - Integration with Fire Detection Systems: Design integration of the FM-200 system with fire detection and alarm systems for effective response during fire events. - Site Survey and Evaluation: Conduct site surveys to assess fire risks, structural considerations, and room integrity for system design. - Pressure Venting Design: Incorporate pressure venting solutions where needed to manage pressure during FM-200 discharge. - Coordination with Other Trades: Work with architects, MEP engineers, and construction teams to integrate the FM-200 system within the building infrastructure. - Documentation and Submittals: Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and submittals for client approval, ensuring clear and accurate communication of design elements. - System Commissioning and Testing: Oversee system installation, conducting integrity tests and discharge testing to ensure system performance. - Troubleshooting and Maintenance Plans: Provide troubleshooting during installation and develop long-term maintenance plans for system reliability. - Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for FM-200 design, installation, and commissioning. - Client and Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, providing technical guidance and ensuring the system meets safety and performance expectations. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E/B. Tech). - Expertise in FM-200 system design and related fire safety systems. - Experience with relevant standards (NFPA 2001, UL, FM) and industry best practices.,
