Job Description

Role & responsibilities

designing fire protection systems like sprinklers and alarms, performing hydraulic and risk assessments, and ensuring designs comply with codes and standards

Design systems:
Create and develop fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, and suppression systems for various buildings.
Conduct assessments:
Perform fire risk assessments and safety evaluations to identify hazards and determine the most effective solutions.
Ensure code compliance:
Make sure all designs meet local, state, national, and international fire safety codes and standards, such as NFPA and IBC.
Perform calculations:
Conduct hydraulic calculations and other analyses to ensure the proper sizing and functionality of systems.

Collaboration and documentation

Coordinate with teams:
Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate fire protection measures into overall building plans.
Create documentation:
Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for project proposals and submittals.
Provide technical support:
Offer guidance and support during the construction, installation, and testing phases of the project.
Participate in meetings:
Attend project meetings to provide updates and collaborate on solutions.
