Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Senior Financial Controller (CPA or international CA with U.S. experience) to oversee financial operations, compliance, and strategic planning across our restaurant group. This role is pivotal in managing banking relationships, leading loan closings and post-closing obligations, and ensuring robust financial governance across multiple locations. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage financial compliance including sales tax, payroll tax, corporate tax, and multi-state filings . Serve as the primary point of contact with U.S. bankers and lenders , coordinating all loan closings, documentation, and post-closing compliance (covenants, reporting, insurance updates, etc.). Prepare and manage financial models, forecasts, and budget-to-actual variance analyses for executive leadership and lending institutions. Drive cash flow planning and working capital management across all restaurant locations. Ensure timely and accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements , internal controls, and monthly closings. Manage external audits , lender reviews, and coordinate with attorneys and advisors on all financial matters. Monitor debt schedules, amortization plans, covenant testing , and maintain loan documentation. Evaluate and support decisions related to site development, remodels, leases, and capital structure . Lead and mentor the accounting team and coordinate across operations, HR, and finance functions. Qualifications: CPA (preferred) or CA with significant U.S. accounting and banking experience. 10+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, with at least 3 years in the restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit retail industry . Demonstrated experience in loan negotiations, closings, and post-closing compliance with U.S. financial institutions. Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, restaurant-specific metrics (prime costs, labor %, occupancy costs), and multi-entity accounting . Proficiency in tools such as QuickBooks Online, Restaurant365, or NetSuite . Strong communication skills to confidently engage with lenders, legal teams, auditors, and internal stakeholders .
