About the Organization Founded in 1994, the Financial Management Service Foundation (FMSF) is a pioneering development organization committed to promoting financial accountability within the voluntary sector. Since its inception, FMSF has been dedicating its efforts to enhancing the capacities of Non-profit Organizations (NPOs) in the areas of Financial Management, Governance, and Legal Compliance. To enhance accountable practices in the voluntary sector, FMSF serves as a vital resource hub for NPOs. FMSF engages with various development actors to raise awareness and provide support through training, workshops, seminars, advisory services, publications, and web-based outreach. By continually evolving, adapting, and offering expert guidance, FMSF plays a crucial role in strengthening the voluntary sector and contributing to positive social impact. Position Overview The Specialist – Financial Management and Compliance will play a vital role in a program which seeks to strengthen the internal capacities of non-profit organizations in India across three building blocks of institutional functioning: governance, financial management, and compliance. These areas are deeply interconnected and together determine how effectively an organization operates, delivers programs and meets the expectations of its stakeholders. This position demands expertise in specific areas related to governance, compliance, and financial management, contributing essential guidance and support to strengthen the capabilities of participating organizations. Job Responsibilities: 1. Provide specialized knowledge and expertise in the designated thematic area (e.g., Governance, Compliance, and Financial Management). 2. Provide handholding and accompaniment support to organizations for robust system development 3. Conduct organizational capacity assessment 4. Design and implement tailor-made solution for strengthening the capacity of the partner organizations in the areas of financial management, governance and compliances. 5. Assist in development of training modules, and other content to align with the thematic focus. 6. Develop tools, manuals, formats, etc. for organizational system strengthening 7. Conduct field visits to assess progress and offer necessary assistance. 8. Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical assistance to NPOs within the financial domain 9. Collaborate effectively with Partners and other stakeholders to implement project activities effectively 10. Conduct research and analysis to provide valuable insights for enhancing thematic capacity. 11. Stay updated on financial emerging trends, best practices, and developments within the sector 12. Undertake additional duties within the position's scope as required by FMSF. Skills and Qualifications: 1. Preferably a M.COM/MBA/CA or equivalent qualification. 2. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in Finance and Accounting in the NPO sector 3. Excellent communication skills (English and Hindi) 4. Proficiency in project coordination and stakeholder engagement 5. Proficient in providing guidance on Financial compliances to partners 6. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting 7. Strong technical skills 8. Willingness to travel 9.
