Job Description

Position Overview

The Financial Analyst position, requiring 5-7 years of hands-on financial analysis and planning experience, translates complex financial data into strategic intelligence to guide organizational decision-making. This role requires E2E understanding of the full FP&A spectrum, capturing financial data, constructing budget and forecast models, performing scenario and variance analysis, and delivering insightful management reporting. Success requires proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting, strong analytical rigor, and the ability to synthesize information into clear, actionable recommendations that drive business value and support strategic planning.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop and consolidate annual operating plans and long-range financial forecasts aligned with business strategy

2. Build and maintain complex financial models for scenario analysis, forecasting, and what-if modeling

3. Conduct variance analysis comparing actual financial performance to budgets and forecasts

4. Track revenue, expenses, and profitability metrics by business unit and identify trends and anomalies

5. Analyze financial and operational data to identify cost reduction, efficiency, and investment opportunities

6. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and financial regulations while identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks

7. Monitor and compare actual expenses and revenues against projections, analyzing variances to identify key drivers and trends

8. Assess financial risks through stress testing and scenario analysis to anticipate obstacles affecting business performance

9. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis, management commentary and review of cash transactions

10. Monitor net working capital, cash flow, and liquidity metrics across business entities

11. Research and gather information for financial reporting while preparing and monitoring analytical and key performance indicators to support data-driven decision-making

12. Present financial results, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders

13. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units to gather financial data and align forecasts

14. Provides quality customer service to all external (Practices) and internal customers

15. Develop and implement process improvements and automation to enhance forecasting efficiency and accuracy

Functional and Technical Competencies

  • Requires advanced Excel proficiency, scenario analysis, commentary writing using excel insights, and forecasting using complex financial modeling techniques to generate management reports, allocations, and analyses
  • Should have deep understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, GAAP, valuation methods, and financial ratios
  • Ability to connect financial data to strategy, perform variance analysis, stress testing, and deliver actionable insights
  • Ability to identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies

Education/Training and Certification, Licensure, Registration Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant professional training or certifications in finance.
  • Certification in excel and modelling skills
  • Certified Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis Professional (FPAC), and the Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) preferred

Experience

(Minimum number of years of relevant experience required to perform the essential functions of the role.)

  • Must have 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and strategic analysis within outsourcing finance environments
  • Experience with financial systems (OneStream/ Concur/ Microsoft Dynamics / D365 etc.), SAAS tools and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with using VBA, Macros, and Power Query to automate data processing, and enhance reporting efficiency
  • Experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView for data visualization and reporting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis
  • Familiarity with predictive financial modeling and advanced data analysis techniques
