Field Service Engineering Experienced Professional

The Field Service Engineer position within the Transformer service business unit for the India region is based at Vadodara. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in executing the Service strategy and contributing to Service growth by providing timely, high-quality, cost-effective service offerings, solutions, and engineering projects for customers. Your responsibilities will include executing Service work in accordance with Hitachi Energy standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines to ensure quality customer service and satisfaction. You will be required to travel to customer sites on a daily basis throughout India and nearby countries, allocating, driving, and monitoring workload based on content, delivery timescales, and competences. Utilizing available resources efficiently, ensuring timely availability of materials and components for service delivery, preparing documents and reports within deadlines, and driving continuous service productivity improvement activities will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, troubleshooting equipment failures, providing recommendations for improvement, and complying with health & safety and environmental directives are essential responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this role should hold a BE/Diploma in electrical engineering and have at least 5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer in the power sector, specifically within Transformers (Distribution, Dry, Power, Traction, etc.). Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English, the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and a proactive approach with the initiative to escalate and delegate tasks as needed are necessary qualifications. Being customer-focused, capable of working both independently and as part of a team, and cultivating customer relationships as a trusted expert are important attributes for this role.
