Job Description

As a Cabling Technician, your role is crucial in ensuring reliable network connections, tidy workspaces, and completing jobs on schedule. You should have strong knowledge of cable types, installation methods, and safety practices. Your responsibilities will include: - Installing, pulling, and routing various low-voltage cables (CAT5e, CAT6/A, Fiber Optic, Coaxial) in commercial, data center, and office environments. - Accurately terminating copper cabling at wall plates, patch panels, and jacks following TIA/EIA standards (T-568A/B). - Performing termination, splicing (fusion/mechanical), and testing of fibre optic cables. - Conducting rigorous testing and certification of installed structured cabling using industry-standard equipment (e.g., Fluke testers). - Diagnosing and troubleshooting cable issues, including shorts, open circuits, and faulty terminations. - Maintaining accurate cable mapping, labelling, as-built drawings, and test result documentation. - Ensuring all installations comply with NEC, TIA/EIA, and local building codes. - Experience in mounting and deploying various distribution components and equipment (IDF/MDF). - Having decent verbal communication skills.
