Factory Manager

To oversee and manage the complete functioning of the factory, ensuring smooth coordination across departments and timely delivery of customer orders. The Factory Manager is accountable for production output, quality standards, worker coordination, order tracking, and meeting shipment deadlines as per buyer commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Overall Operations Management

• Coordinate all factory and office departments: Production, Quality, Merchandising, Stores, HR, Administration, Maintenance, and Accounts.
• Ensure synchronized functioning between office staff (merchandising, accounts, HR) and production teams to eliminate delays.
• Maintain strong alignment between customer commitments and production capability.

2. Order Fulfillment & Shipment Delivery

• Monitor all buyer orders and ensure timely production, finishing, and shipment as per the committed delivery dates.
• Track order status daily and resolve any bottlenecks (raw material delays, quality issues, machine breakdowns, labor shortages).
• Maintain and share daily/weekly order status reports with management and buyers, if required.

3. Production Oversight

• Supervise day-to-day operations of cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing.
• Ensure 100% utilization of machines and workforce with a focus on achieving production targets.
• Troubleshoot production delays or capacity constraints.

4. Quality Management

• Ensure that the quality assurance team is active throughout the production cycle.
• Approve final inspection reports and ensure zero-defect dispatches.
• Coordinate with buyers and third-party inspectors for audits and approvals.

5. Resource Planning & Team Management

• Forecast resource needs (manpower, machines, raw materials) and plan accordingly.
• Lead and motivate department heads, set KPIs, and conduct regular reviews.
• Resolve conflicts and promote a productive work culture.

6. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

• Oversee procurement and inventory control for fabric, trims, and accessories.
• Ensure timely inward of raw materials and outflow of finished goods.
• Approve inventory levels, ensuring neither overstocking nor shortages.

7. Client & Vendor Communication

• Act as the main point of contact for key buyers, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure prompt and professional communication to address buyer concerns and changes in order priorities.
• Attend buyer meetings, audits, and factory visits.

8. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure factory compliance with labor laws, safety standards, and buyer social audits.
• Maintain accurate documentation for orders, production, quality, and shipment.
• Ensure that HR and administrative functions are aligned with factory compliance needs.

9. Cost Control & Profitability

• Monitor and control operational expenses to improve margins.
• Work with accounts and finance teams to track production costs, overheads, and profitability of each order.
• Recommend cost-saving measures without compromising quality or delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelors in Textile/Industrial Engineering, Garment Manufacturing, or related field; MBA (preferred)
• Experience: 10–15 years in garment industry with minimum 5 years in a senior managerial role overseeing factory and office operations
• Industry: Fabric Exports / Apparel Manufacturing
