Job Description

Sourcing Merchandiser would be responsible for managing and coordinating the sourcing and production of garments. Plays a crucial role in identifying suitable suppliers, coordinating with them to meet production timelines, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality finished garments. Key Responsibilities Attached to the Role: Supplier Identification and Selection: Identify and assess potential suppliers, manufacturers, and garment vendors based on their capability, capacity, quality standards, and ethical practices. Support sourcing leads to conduct supplier audits, factory visits, and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with production requirements and industry standards. Support sourcing leads to negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to establish mutually beneficial agreements and optimize cost savings. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise. Production Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, such as design, product, and merchandising, to understand garment specifications, technical requirements, and production timelines. Coordinate the production process with suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality standards, product specifications, and delivery schedules. Monitor and track production progress, identifying and addressing any delays, bottlenecks, or quality issues to maintain on-time delivery. Regularly communicate with suppliers to obtain production updates, resolve any production-related challenges, and ensure seamless coordination. Quality Control Coordination: Establish and communicate quality standards and requirements to suppliers, ensuring compliance throughout the production process. Conduct pre-production meetings with suppliers to clarify quality expectations, production techniques, and finishing details. Collaborate with the quality control team to conduct inspections and audits at supplier facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards, technical specifications, and safety regulations. Manage the resolution of any quality-related issues, such as rework, replacements, or returns, in coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Cost Management and Negotiation: Analyze garment costs, market trends, and sourcing opportunities to optimize cost savings without compromising quality. Support Sourcing leads to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements and cost-effective sourcing solutions. Continuously evaluate supplier performance, pricing competitiveness, and production efficiency to drive cost reduction initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify value engineering opportunities and alternative sourcing options to improve cost efficiencies. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sourcing and production-related documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and shipping documents. Generate regular reports and provide updates on sourcing activities, production status, key performance indicators, and any issues or risks identified. Prepare data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and actionable insights to enhance the sourcing and production process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and solutions for streamlining processes, reducing lead times, and optimizing supply chain performance.
