Boeing India Engineering (BIE) Software is seeking an Experienced Software Engineer - Developer to join their team in Bengaluru, India. As a Software Engineer, you will be a key part of the Boeing Global Services Training Solutions team, which is dedicated to developing software applications and products that deliver direct value to customers. We are looking for a lead software engineer with over 9 years of experience in the augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) domain, preferably within the aviation industry. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of AR/VR, Unity/Unreal technologies, strong leadership skills to guide a multidisciplinary team, and hands-on expertise in programming languages to support and contribute to coding requirements as necessary. Position Responsibilities: The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the development of cutting-edge training solutions. Key responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Maintenance and Flight training projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (developers, designers, engineers) to steer the entire product lifecycle. Feature Definition: Define and prioritize product features based on comprehensive market research, user feedback, and industry trends. Technical Expertise & Mentorship: Act as an AR/VR, Unity/Unreal Subject Matter Expert (SME), offering mentorship and guidance while effectively translating technical requirements into actionable tasks. Project Delivery: Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality Unity/Unreal products, effectively managing risks and expectations throughout the development cycle. Software Development: Contribute to the Boeing India Engineering team by developing, maintaining, and enhancing aviation software products. System Requirements & Agile Development: Define system requirements, actively participate in software development, and collaborate with diverse teams across multiple locations. Drive Epic/Feature/Story creation and solution design within an Agile setting, fostering effective communication and solution architecture. Documentation & Technical Debt: Create and maintain comprehensive software design/architecture documentation, actively working to reduce technical debt. Global Collaboration: Collaborate with international teams, promoting knowledge sharing and competency development. Continuous Improvement: Recommend system enhancements, research new requirements, and actively promote capabilities improvement. Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel may be required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Education: A Bachelor's degree (B.Tech/MCA) or higher is required. Professional Experience: 9+ years of professional experience in AR/VR, Unity/Unreal development. Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Unity/Unreal development using programming languages (C#, C++) and web-based technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript). VR Platforms: Knowledge of VR platforms such as Oculus, HTC Vive, or PlayStation VR. Domain Knowledge: Extensive understanding of AR/VR hardware, software frameworks, and computer graphics principles. Leadership Skills: Proven track record in leading successful AR/VR, Unity/Unreal projects, coupled with excellent communication and team management abilities. Agile Experience: Proficiency in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and product management tools (JIRA, Trello, etc.). System Engineering: Hands-on involvement in software development and system engineering. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience: 9+ years of professional experience in Unity or Unreal development, with a preference for experience in the aviation industry. Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for development, such as C#, C++, Unity, Unreal Engine, and familiarity with web-based technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript). Visual Scripting: Advanced knowledge in Unreal Blueprints and/or Unity Visual Scripting. AR/VR Ecosystem: Extensive knowledge of AR/VR hardware, software frameworks, and platforms. Graphics & Physics: Solid understanding of computer graphics, 3D math, and physics principles. Project Leadership: Proven track record of leading successful software projects from conception to delivery. Game Engine Workflows: Well-versed with game engine workflows. Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills are required. Preferred Skill Set :DevOps, automation, scripting, CI/CD (Azure CI/CD, C#, PowerShell). Experience in airplane simulation, CSF, Realtime, Window32/64, and MS. Proficiency in C#, C++. Familiarity with Game SDK/Framework, Virtual Server. Gaming/Aviation Experience: Previous experience with Unity/Unreal or Game development. Familiarity with aviation-related systems, regulations, or applications. Certifications: Certifications or specialized training in AR/VR technologies, Unity, or Unreal. Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) and typically 9+ years related work experience, or a Master's Degree with 8+ years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relocation: This position does offer relocation within INDIA based on candidate eligibility. Export Control Requirements: This is not an Export Control position.
