Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking for a motivated Staples Quality Control Chemist to join our dynamic team at our RPC (Bangalore location). In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the quality and integrity of our products through rigorous testing and analysis, ensuring compliance with industry standards and enhancing our commitment to excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

This position is required to achieve the desired level of performance in the following Key Result areas:

  • To perform analysis of proximate, gravimetric, titrimetric and miscellaneous parameters in all food products (Staples, Whole/Powder spices and Dry fruits) as per AOAC, AOCS, FSSAI and other standard procedures and methods.
  • Conduct routine analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using established laboratory techniques and equipment
  • Assist in the development and validation of analytical methods to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Document and report findings accurately, maintaining thorough records of all tests and results.
  • To perform analytical balance performance check on daily basis.
  • Maintenance and calibration of all laboratory instruments to ensure accurate results as per schedule.
  • To evaluate and identify critical consumables and make indent as per testing requirement. Collaborate with external calibration vendors where external calibration required for lab equipment.
  • Support the implementation of quality control protocols, Benchmarking analysis with competitor samples and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • To get familiarized in performing intermediate checks of micro pipette, Dean and Stark moisture analysis, Sieve Shaker, Hot air oven, muffle furnace and volatile oil extraction through Clevenger apparatus.
  • Proper segregation of chemicals, standards and samples.
  • To get familiarized in operation, calibration and maintenance of UV-Visible spectro photometer (Sucroscan), Micrograin Analyzer and Kett Rice Whiteness tester.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Bsc/Msc Chemistry/ BTech Food Technology/Food Science and Technology.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in Food Processing Industry or Testing labs in a chemist role.
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook)
  • Understanding of chemical safety protocols and laboratory best practices
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.
