Executive - Mechanical Engineering

Job Description You will play a crucial role in ensuring higher availability and reliability of equipment, as well as quick response to any breakdowns. Collaboration with other team members will be key in fulfilling this objective. Key Responsibilities - Perform maintenance on equipment, sub stations, gates, administration building, work stations, and fire pump - Conduct routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance on equipment, including inspections and necessary corrective actions - Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and make corrections on equipment - Act as a supervisor overseeing repairs and promptly address reported hazards - Record job details, manpower allocation, and equipment status in the shift logbook - Verify job reports submitted by shift staff and maintain breakdown records - Coordinate with Contractors/Consultants to expedite major or critical breakdown rectifications - Develop preventive maintenance documents for equipment based on schedule and implement them through Planned Maintenance Software - Implement maintenance practices to maximize equipment availability with minimal downtime while strictly adhering to safety standards - Prioritize issues based on severity - Utilize in-depth knowledge of engines, hydraulics, ropes, gearboxes of container handling cranes (QC, RTG, RST, ECH) and forklifts - Conduct routine inspections and checks on emergency generators, administration building lift, fire system, and yard floodlights - Undertake any specific tasks or responsibilities assigned by superiors - Report any unsafe conditions in the terminal or work area promptly - Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environment policies and procedures - Report any observed abnormalities on equipment to the supervisor promptly Qualifications & Competencies Skills and Competencies - Proficiency in computer knowledge and troubleshooting - Dependable and punctual - Strong communication and report writing skills - LMV License would be an added advantage - NDT experience would be an added advantage - Experience with lathe machine work would be an added advantage Stakeholder Internal: - External:- Educational Qualification (min) - BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Preferred Certifications if any Range/ Min no of years - of overall Experience required - Diploma Holder with 5 to 8 years of experience - Degree holder with 3 to 5 years of experience,
