Location: Velachery/Vepery

Notice period: Max 20 days

Shift: Day.

Job Summary:

The E/M Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and accurately assigning Evaluation and Management (E/M) codes for inpatient and outpatient services. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and supports accurate billing and reimbursement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze clinical documentation to assign appropriate E/M codes.
Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding discrepancies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and payer requirements.
Participate in internal and external coding audits and implement feedback.
Assist in resolving coding-related billing issues.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of coded data.

Qualifications:

Experience: 13 years of E/M coding experience preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in health information management is a plus.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Familiarity with healthcare billing and compliance standards.

Skills:

Proficiency in E/M coding for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills for provider interaction.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software.
