ETP/STP Operator

Job Summary:

The ETP/STP Operator is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and/or Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. The operator ensures proper treatment of industrial or domestic wastewater before discharge or reuse.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor all ETP/STP equipment and control panels (pumps, valves, aerators, blowers, filters, etc.)
• Maintain water quality by checking and recording parameters like pH, TSS, COD, BOD, TDS, DO, etc.
• Adjust chemical dosing (coagulants, flocculants, disinfectants, etc.) based on test results
• Ensure proper functioning of biological and chemical treatment processes
• Handle sludge management – dewatering, drying, and disposal
• Record daily operational data in logbooks or digital systems

Maintenance & Housekeeping:

• Perform basic preventive maintenance of mechanical/electrical equipment
• Report malfunctions or irregularities to the maintenance team or supervisor
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in and around the plant area

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure discharge meets regulatory standards as per Pollution Control Board guidelines
• Maintain records for audit and environmental reporting
• Follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE at all times

Required Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or relevant trade
• Prior experience (1–3 years) in operating ETP/STP in an industrial or commercial facility
• Understanding of wastewater treatment processes and environmental regulations

Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of ETP/STP operations and water quality parameters
• Ability to operate testing equipment (pH meter, turbidity meter, etc.)
• Troubleshooting and basic maintenance skills
• Record-keeping and reporting
• Awareness of workplace safety and environmental norms

Work Conditions:

• Shift-based work (rotational if needed)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹8,478.49 - ₹30,465.16 per month
