Job Summary

The ETP Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure treated wastewater meets statutory discharge norms as per Pollution Control Board (PCB) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor ETP systems including equalization, aeration, clarifier, sludge handling, filtration, and chemical dosing units
• Ensure continuous treatment of effluent as per CPCB/SPCB discharge norms
• Monitor and record pH, COD, BOD, TSS, MLSS, DO and other critical parameters
• Carry out chemical dosing (lime, alum, polymer, nutrients, etc.) as per process requirement
• Perform daily log entries, operational checklists, and statutory records
• Handle sludge dewatering, drying beds, and safe disposal as per guidelines
• Coordinate with external laboratories for effluent sample testing
• Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the ETP area
• Assist during PCB inspections, environmental audits, and compliance reporting
• Report abnormalities, equipment failures, or safety hazards immediately
• Follow safety SOPs, PPE usage, and emergency procedures

Equipment & Systems Handled

• Equalization tank, aeration tank, clarifier
• Blowers, pumps, agitators
• Filter press / centrifuge / sludge drying beds
• Online pH meters, flow meters
• Chemical dosing systems

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in operating ETP/STP (Pharma/Nutraceutical preferred)

Skills & Competencies

• Sound knowledge of ETP processes and environmental norms
• Ability to read gauges, meters, and basic lab results
• Basic troubleshooting skills for pumps and blowers
• Awareness of Pollution Control Board compliance
• Record-keeping and documentation discipline
• Physically fit for shift duties

Regulatory Knowledge

• CPCB / SPCB discharge standards
• Hazardous waste handling rules
• Basic understanding of ISO 14001 & GMP environment norms (preferred)

Working Conditions

• Exposure to chemicals and wastewater (with PPE)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
