Estimation and Doc Control

Profile SummaryThe Estimator must have a proven track record and succeed with maintaining the same while managing complex structural and architectural steel projects to profitability. This role requires strong acumen with contract drawings, purchasing, detailing, engineering, documentation, fabrication, erection, forecasting, scheduling, coatings, and shipping in regards to steel. Requires knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Welding Society (AWS), The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and National Institute of Steel Design (NISD) standards.Roles and ResponsibilitiesWork closely with team members to prepare/submit project estimatesAnalyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately prepare and estimateKnowledge of structural steel members, connections, embeds, stairs, railings, ladders, catwalks, grating structures, and miscellaneous architectural metalsMust comply with requirements of the design drawings and all industry standards and protocols, such as those established by AISC, AWS, and comply with current OSHA and NISD guidelinesCalculation skills for detailing hours to prepare thorough and accurate estimatesCollaborate with team members to rate size, scope and timelines/deadlines of projectsReview all construction documents including instructions to bidders and scope of workAbility to meet deadlines on a regular basis while maintaining a high level of accuracy and qualityQualifications And Technical Competencies2+ years of experience as Estimator within structural/architectural steel industryStrong experience of reading and interpreting structural/architectural design drawingsRobust knowledge of steel manufacturing, steel erection, and shop fabrication processAbility to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specificationsKnowledge of welding specificationsProficiency in technical writing and verbal communication skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsBasic knowledge of using SDS2/Tekla and BluebeamProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and Google WorkspaceSoft SkillsSanrachna Steel seeks energetic candidates to engage with our dynamic team and client baseSpecifically, integrity, motivation, proactivity, and independence, combined with the willingness to cross-train responsibilities within other company departments, is desiredCandidate is comfortable taking initiative in system development, problem solving, and internal and external office communicationsWe require flexibility and accommodation of adapting to varied prioritiesMust maintain a professional work ethic, positive attitude, and openness to new challenges, resulting in quality workCandidate is ethically minded with attention to detail, organization, and creative problem solving
